Hello Everyone!
Today we are learning about helpers and helping out. I talked to the kids about helping and they decided that they would be helpers by going on the potty by themselves and by cleaning their rooms :)
We read some cute books about helping. The Little Red Hen is a great book about helping, and also what not helping does.
We also read, I Can't Said the Ant by Polly Cameron. This is a book about all the things in the kitchen working together to help a broken teapot. We talked about how you can help someone by encouraging them to feel better, like many of the characters in this book. Also, the spiders and the ants worked together to help the hurt teapot.
This book also had a lot of rhyming, so we practiced the rhyming words and found new words to rhyme with them.
We also read Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street? by Eleanor Hudson, which is about Elmo getting help finding Sesame Street and also has some great rhyming to practice!
Helping correlates with our letter H and the h sound. We find words in our books that also begin with h, such as hen, hope, higher, harvest, and so forth.
